Self striping football club yarn

£28.00

Football is big in the Midlands and we have six local teams who are in the top four leagues of the Football Association. Here’s your chance to make that special item in homage to your beloved club.

The nicknames of the clubs have been given a woolly twist:

Aston Villa - Claret & Blewe

Birmingham City - The Blewes

Coventry City - Sky Blewes

Walsall - Woolsall

West Bromwich Albion - The Baaaggies

Wolverhampton Wanderes - Woolves

When knitted on 3mm needles with 52 stitches per row, the stripes are around 4 rows wide (approximately 1cm). The exception is the Walsall colourway, in which the red stripe is double the thickness of the the black and white stripes.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS YARN IS NOT SUITABLE FOR MACHINE WASHING. IF YOU ARE MAKING A GARMENT AS A GIFT, PLEASE CONVEY THIS TO THE RECIPIENT!!!!

100% Kent Romney 4 ply / sock 100g balls (approx 350m)

Our non superwash yarn is spun in Yorkshire from British fleece and hand dyed in small batches in Birmingham. Whilst colour consistency between batches is good, due to the dyeing process no two skeins will be identical and there may be slight colour variations between batches. It is therefore recommended that you buy enough yarn from the same batch to complete your project.

Once you have completed your garment, it is recommended that you handwash your finished item in lukewarm water with your wool wash of choice and lay your washed garment flat to dry. Although the yarn is thoroughly rinsed after dyeing, some slight colour bleed may occur at first wash.

I photograph my yarn in natural daylight, however colour variations can occur between monitors.
